The aim of this course is to provide Dementia Care Mappers with an opportunity to develop their critical thinking and leadership skills to enable them to use DCM to effectively embed high quality person-centred care across their organisation. Participants will be supported to reflect on their role in leading change to make a difference to the quality of care.

Learning outcomes: By the end of this course, you will be able to

  • Deliver a DCM-related service improvement project using leadership, quality and change management approaches
  • Use DCM to embed person-centred care across your organisation, which can include a variety of client groups and a range of settings
  • Use DCM to monitor and improve the quality of care practice across your organisation and to prepare for regulation and inspection
  • Ensure effective stakeholder involvement, including people with dementia and their families, in the DCM process
  • Use best practice examples and research evidence to demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of DCM

Please note attendance at all tutorial dates is mandatory.   If you cannot attend a mandatory tutorial, you will be unable to continue the course and full payment will be required.  Please check your availability to attend all tutorial dates before enrolling on the course.

Cancellations must be made via email to dementia@bradford.ac.uk. A full refund will be given for cancellations made 4 weeks before the start date of the course, and a 50% refund will be given if cancelled 2 weeks before the start date of the course. No refund will be paid for any cancellations less than 2 weeks before the start date of the course.
